When driving in snowy/icy conditions please do not use the Caddonfoot Road (B710 between Clovenfords and Caddonfoot) and instead use the alternative route by the Nest Roundabout (A72 towards Peebles and left at the roundabout, see map below).
This is because Caddonfoot Road does not form part of the ‘primary salting route’ and will not be treated until the council has completed salting the main network of roads.
Whilst this is a slightly longer route, it will be much safer in freezing conditions before the Caddonfoot Road has been treated, and a great step towards preventing accidents.
